As the Fourth of July approaches, excitement is building. Fireworks displays are being planned, grills are being prepped, and red, white, and blue decorations are appearing everywhere.

It's a time for family gatherings, backyard barbecues, and community parades. Whether you're planning a day at the lake, a picnic in the park, or simply a cozy evening watching the fireworks, this Independence Day promises to be a celebration of all things American.

So, dust off your lawn chairs, stock up on sparklers, and get ready to embrace the festive spirit of the Fourth of July!

Have a look at a few events and activities in our community and locally:

Every Wednesday is Burger Day at Annie’s Ruff Cut, located in Cochecton, NY. Offering $10 half-pound burgers—served with lettuce, tomato and onion on a sesame seed bun with French fries and a pickle. Set your clocks, they open at 12 noon.

Stop by the Country Bum’kin at their new location at the corner light in Fosterdale this summer. They are open seven days a week and have treasures for everyone!

Unbroken Acres is holding their first annual Farm Brunch Community Table on Sunday, June 30 from 11 AM -2 PM at Unbroken Acres in Cochecton, NY. $40/per person and clipboard signups are at the farm stand for all events.

The Sullivan County Conservation Club in Ferndale, NY is holding its 2024 Bowhunter Youth Camp on Saturday, July 13 from 9 AM – 5 PM and Sunday, July 14 from 9 AM – 3 PM. The Youth Bowhunter Camp is open to all youth ages 11 to 16 in DEC Region 3 which includes Sullivan County. Space is limited and admission to Youth Camp will be determined by a brief essay each applicant will include with their application due by June 30. Please call Harry Walker at 845/794-6752 for more information.

Don’t forget the Narrowsburg Fireworks Display is on Saturday, July 6 at dusk. They will be visible from Main Street, Pete’s Plaza, the Narrowsburg Bridge and the Beach Lake River access. Sponsored by Roto Rooter, Lander's River Trips, and Central House.
