The events of summer

As May wraps up, we’re eagerly looking forward to the arrival of summer. The days are getting longer, and there’s a buzz of excitement in the air. It’s the time for outdoor fun, picnics in the park, and maybe even a trip down the Delaware. Summer brings with it a sense of freedom and adventure, and we’re ready to soak up every moment of it.

Have a look at a few events and activities in our community and locally:

Our Lady of the Lake Church, located at 6590 State Rte. 52 in Lake Huntington, NY, will be holding a Sausage & Pepper Lunch on Saturday, May 25 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Lunch includes a sausage-and-pepper sandwich, chips, macaroni salad and a brownie. A $10 donation is requested, and the food is takeout only. Call Ann at 315/727-4446 or Peggy at 845/932-9988 for more information.

Check out the Country Bum’kin Antiques Shop in its new location on the corner of Routes 17B and 52 in Fosterdale, NY, in the Town of Cochecton. Peruse the new cozy store, which is filled to the brim with antiques and vintage items. A few of the vendors from their prior location will be part of the new version of The Country Bum’kin, giving you the diverse inventory you expect from them. Dig through their still vast inventory to discover that perfect item to bring home with you! Stop by today!

The Zerbini Family Circus is coming to the Delaware Youth Center on Thursday, June 6 at 6 p.m. Advanced ticket sales are encouraged. You can purchase online at www.delawareyouthcenter.org/zerbini-family-circus or in person at Delaware Youth Center, Riverside Remedies, Mike Preis Insurance or The Cacklin’ Hen. Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime. This is a rain-or-shine event.

There will be a free rabies clinic for dogs, cats and ferrets on Wednesday, June 5 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Morningside Park Pavilion, located at 638 Brickman Rd. in Hurleyville, NY for Sullivan County residents only. Please bring a photo ID as proof of residency.
