MILFORD, PA — The Pike County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) will hold its 10th annual Elder Justice Day on Tuesday, August 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Matamoras Senior Center.

Professionals will give presentations on topics relevant to older adults. This year, the focus is on self-care.

Local organizations will also be available to answer questions about their services. The Drug Take Back program will provide a safe way to dispose of unwanted medications.

“Elder Justice Day is designed with the needs of our seniors in mind,” Tracy Simon, the protective services supervisor with the AAA. “The Elder Abuse Task Force books speakers who can provide information on topics that are currently trending among the senior community as well as the topics seniors have expressed interest in learning more about.”

Registration is free. The event includes a light breakfast, lunch, and a door prize drawing ticket.

Transportation can be arranged through Pike County Transportation.

If you suspect elder abuse, call the Pike County Elder Abuse Task Force at 800-490-8505; reports are taken 24 hours a day.

To register for Elder Justice Day, call 570-775-5550.
