College offers free FAFSA workshops

Posted

LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — SUNY Sullivan’s Financial Aid Office will hold two workshops to help students understand and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.

The free workshops will be held on Wednesday, August 7 and Tuesday, August 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in Building G, Room 005 and 005c. A light breakfast will be provided.

The workshops will cover how to apply for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and student loans. The FAFSA is free to complete and submit, and provides access to federal grants, work-study funds and loans. It’s the first step in applying for the Sullivan Promise Scholarship, which provides Sullivan County’s graduating high school seniors with free tuition to attend SUNY Sullivan.

Registration is required. To register, visit bit.ly/4d2LQHV, email studentactivities@sunysullivan.edu, or call 845/434-5750. Interested students who are dependents can bring the family member who claims them as a dependent on their taxes to assist with this form.
