HURLEYVILLE, NY — Hip hop/soul artist Nyasia Chane’l will return home to Sullivan County, performing during the Hurleyville Music Festival on July 20 at the Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre (HPAC).
The event, which runs from 12 noon to 5 p.m., is free to attend and offers two stages with 20 performers over the course of the afternoon, as well as vendors, a bounce house and face painting.
Chane’l, from Fallsburg, is known for singing, songwriting and acting. Her inspiration comes from Etta James, Mary J. Blige, Ashanti and Beyoncé, crossing musical generations.
Her singles include “Impatience,” “Can’t Stop Us” and “Sticky Wicked,” and have been played on radio stations both nationally and internationally.
Chane’l opened for Bobby Shmurda at the 2023 SUNY Purchase Afrodesiac Homecoming Festival and has performed at the HBO-sponsored tribute to Aretha Franklin at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem.
