WAYNE COUNTY, PA — The owners of seven “beautiful local gardens in full bloom” will welcome visitors on Saturday, July 20 for the benefit of the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

The self-guided tour, which takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., will begin at the Chamber of Commerce, 32 Commercial St. in Honesdale. There attendees can pick up a map and program.

Tickets cost $20 at the door and $15 in advance.

“We are very pleased that so many gardeners agreed to showcase their flowers, trees and landscapes,” said Martha Wilson, auxilian and co-chair of the garden tour. Gardeners are usually on hand to answer questions.

Wilson said many of the gardens, which are located in Honesdale, Prompton and Equinunk in PA and in Narrowsburg, NY, are new to the event;  others participated in the auxiliary’s first garden tour in 2022.

Proceeds from the tour will help the all-volunteer auxiliary meet the ongoing needs of Wayne Memorial Hospital and the community health system in the county.

Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling Margie at 631/432-6364 or at the following locations: the Wayne Memorial Hospital Gift Box; FNCB Bank, 1001 Main St., Honesdale; The Dime Bank, 820 Church St., Honesdale; and the Other Shops—1036 Main St., Honesdale, and 310 Main Ave., Hawley.

The rain date is July 21.
