HAWLEY, PA — U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright (PA-08) issued the following comment on the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein of California: “Senator Dianne Feinstein served as a policy catalyst in the U.S. Senate, leading the charge on momentous legislation to protect our country’s national security and uphold personal safety by spearheading the Federal Assault Weapons Ban and the Violence Against Women Act. Thanks to her pioneering leadership as San Francisco’s first female mayor and the first woman Senator from California, her storied legacy will continue to inspire women of all ages, backgrounds and political affiliations to seek public office.”
