Callicoon’s country fair, a trip to Sesame Place and more

Just like that, we are in the last weeks of July and heading full blast into August. This heat wave has certainly been keeping the lake busy with people in boats, jet skis and paddleboards—and even a new swan addition has made its way to our lake.

We mourn the passing of Sharon D. Erdman, a lifelong area resident, on July 12. Sharon will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a cherished member of our community.

We also mourn the passing of Robert Dailey, formerly of Lake Huntington, NY; Beach Lake, PA; and Myrtle Beach, SC. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Have a look at a few events and activities in our community:

Registration for fall sports at Sullivan West Middle School and High School is now open. Sign up through FamilyID on the school website at www.swcsd.org

The Delaware Youth Center is offering a bus trip to Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA on Thursday, August 15. The price includes coach bus travel, admission into the park and lunch, which is pizza, chips and a drink. The cost is $100 per member and $120 per non-member. Learn more at www.delawareyouthcenter.org/sesame-place-bus-trip .

This weekend will be the Callicoon Country Fair on Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout Callicoon, NY. There will be musicians and performers, artisan market vendors, food, games, antiques and so much more. Stop by and enjoy the fun!
