Winter sports have started at Sullivan West. Check the school website for up-to-date game information for all the sporting events this winter. Come and support our local youth.

I love that our communities offer so many different events to celebrate the holidays. Here are a few taking place locally:

Please join the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church at the Christmas Carol Sing—all are welcome! Join the members of the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church and community members to attend the first Christmas Hymn Sing on Friday, December 15 at 5:30 p.m. Call Vicky Krauss at 845/932-8923 so they know how many people will be attending and how much soup, hot dogs and cookies will be needed. They will sing classic Christmas songs and Christmas hymns. It’s free and fun for all! Merry Christmas!

A cookie walk is being held on Saturday, December 9 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Narrowsburg, NY from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $10/pound and there will be a large selection of cookies to choose from. Pick your own and get a head start on your holidays without all the fuss of baking.

Dickens on the Delaware will take place on Saturday, December 9 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Callicoon will be transformed into a winter wonderland with holiday trees, festive wreaths and streets filled with holiday lights. Shops, galleries and restaurants will highlight their holiday goods and dazzle town visitors with their holiday spirit. Shopkeepers will be dressed in Victorian costumes.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 3 from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the second annual Lake Superior Ice Fishing Tournament. They are looking for sponsors for this event as well. Call 845/978-6161 if you are interested or have any questions about this event.

If you have a local business that would like to be spotlighted in an upcoming column, get in touch! Email jenn@jennpowelldesigns.com with any news, events and happenings.
