‘Bioadapted’ at NACL

HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — The North Americal Cultural Laboratory (NACL) presents a work-in-progress showing of “Bioadapted” from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, August 18 at NACL.
“Bioadapted” is an interactive theatrical experiment by Transforma Theatre that employs texts about AI, some of which have been generated by GPT-3.
Bioadapted is described as a theatrical reenactment of an investigative documentary with actors portraying real people and scientists, paired with humorous and eerie fictional pieces about what our future might look like if AI propagates in unethical ways that don’t serve humankind.
The goal of the project, NACL said, is to investigate, interrogate and educate, while delivering a science-enhanced experience.
“AI regulation and its implementation in government systems concerns all of us,” a spokesman said, “and through our process of blending art and science, we make these issues ‘digestible,’ empowering audiences to become active decision-makers and alert citizens protecting their own agency and human sovereignty.”
In the grand finale, the audience will put GPT-3 on trial and interrogate it in real time.
The performance takes place at NACL, located at 110 Highland Lake Rd.
