We finally made it to February with what seemed like the longest January on record! Crazy weather, long days and lots of things to do. Check out the following events happening in our community and surrounding areas.

The Federation of Sportsman’s Club of Sullivan County will sponsor youth to attend the DEC summer camp at DeBruce, NY. One-week camps, for youths aged 11-13, Monday through Friday, starting the last week of June until the end of August. For more information, visit www.dec.ny.gov for summer camp information and sign-ups. 

Older youths aged 14 to 17 can attend camp at Pack Forest, NY. Register by Sunday, March 24.

Save the date! The Sullivan West High School Musical Production Club is excited to present “Guys and Dolls, A Musical Fable of Broadway.” Dates are Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 at 7 p.m., as well as on Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. The production will be at the high school auditorium at Lake Huntington, NY. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults - $10, students - $6, senior citizens aged 62 and up get in free, and there’s a Sunday Special: a four-pack costing $25 and a five-pack that costs $30. This production has been made possible through special arrangements with Music Theatre International (MTI). 

It’s based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon. Music and lyrics are by Frank Loesser. Book is by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows.

The 2024 Red Dog Youth Football and Cheer registration is now open. Mail-in registration will be held through July 1, and can be sent to Red Dogs Registration, PO Box 381, Jeffersonville, NY 12748. Email reddogsorganization@gmail.com for more information including forms and pricing.

The Villa Roma Ski Hill is offering local pricing this ski season. It’s a great opportunity to learn to ski with the whole family. Hours are as follows, weather permitting: 

Friday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m: skiing and tubing

Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.: skiing and tubing

Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: skiing and tubing. 

Display your school gear for a chance to win a free lift ticket. It’s affordable family fun all weekend long. Enjoy a day out without having to overpay. Best conditions and tube run in the county and Sullivan County-local pricing is every day.

Exciting news for artists! The Delaware Valley Arts Nest invites you to submit your work for its upcoming exhibition, titled "Metamorphosis." Showcase your artistic interpretation of transformation and change in captivating 2D pieces with a deadline of Monday, February 19. Submit up to six pieces along with a digital image and artist statement to JodiSibilia+Curator@gmail.com.
