Tri-Gal 4-H Club reaps honors, elects officers for 2024

Posted

DAMASCUS, PA — On November 3 at the annual Achievement Night for Wayne County 4-H, Tri-Gal 4-H Club was named 2023 Super Club. This is our second year in a row to receive this honor.

The Super Club honor is based on a report of club activities that is given to the extension office.

Some of those activities include community service, publicity, member participation and the completion of three required club meetings: Health and Safety, Diversity and STEM. Our club completed over 20 community service projects from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023. Our members also received many record-book awards during this awards night.

The following Tri-Gal officers received awards: Olyvea Burke received County Secretary of the Year, and Channing Rutledge and Gillian Goldstein received County Treasurer(s) of the Year. Cloverbud members Henry Freidenstine and Dylan Burke received coloring contest prizes.

Earning Pennsylvania State 4-H Clover Awards were:

Green Award (level 1)—Olyvea Burke, Andrew Freidenstine, Cora Freidenstine, Gillian Goldstein, Garrett Keninitz, Carter Kennedy, Cade Rutledge and Sydney Rutledge

Silver Award (level 4)—Channing Rutledge.

Each year, members can apply for the next level based on their participation in their local club. The Diamond Level (6) is the highest level, and members have two years to achieve it; the focus is on a major service-learning project that benefits their community.

The 10-year 4-H members are Carter Kennedy and Emma Modrovsky.

The 12-year member is Elektra Kehagais.

Congratulations and best wishes for the future to Emma Modrovsky, as she completed her final year in the 4-H program.

The Outstanding County Senior Member is Elektra Kehagais.

We wish all of our members continued success in the new 4-H year, and congratulations on all your achievements this year.

New officers elected

Tri-Gal has elected its new officers—they will lead the club through the 2024 4-H year.

Congratulations to the following members on your election.

The president is Gillian Goldstein; the vice president is Andrew Freidenstine; the secretary is Olyvea Burke. Channing Rutledge is the treasurer; Claire Goldstein is the news reporter, and the new pledge leader is Cora Freidenstine.

Along with club leaders, these officers will run meetings, attend trainings, plan club events and help organize community service and club events.

They will also serve as role models for returning members and new member mentors.

We look forward to another year filled with educational opportunities and fun club events.
