Happy Valentine’s Day! Celebrate with the ones you love at a local restaurant, or shop local for that special gift for the one you love. As we are in the middle of February, I personally am hoping for no more snow and for all the mud to dry up!

Save the date for the Cochecton Youth Commission’s upcoming event to the Kartrite Indoor Waterpark on Saturday, April 20 at 11 am. The sign-up date for this event is Tuesday, March 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the lower level of the Cochecton Town Hall. Sign-ups for this event will close promptly at 6 p.m. on March 5. (Sorry, no exceptions.) 

For details about the event, call April at 845/701-2530. The cost for adults is $55. Bring exact cash to the sign-ups. As always, there is no cost for all Cochecton youth. 

This program is funded by the County of Sullivan and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services through the Sullivan County Youth Bureau.

Trivia Thursdays with Adam Owens at the Arts Nest in Lake Huntington recurs weekly on Thursdays in February. Admission is free. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and trivia is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Save the date: The Sullivan West High School Musical Production Club is excited to present “Guys and Dolls: A Musical Fable of Broadway.” The performance dates are at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9, as well as Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. It will be held at the high school auditorium in Lake Huntington. 

Ticket prices are as follows: Adults—$10, students— $6, and senior citizens (aged 62-plus) get in free. There is a Sunday special, too: a four-pack that costs $25 and a five-pack that costs $30. The production has been made possible through special arrangements with Music Theatre International. It’s based on a story by and characters of Damon Runyon. Music and lyrics are by Frank Loesser. The book is by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows.

The 2024 Red Dog Youth Football and Cheer registration is now open. Mail-in registration takes place through July 1. Send it to Red Dogs Registration, PO Box 381, Jeffersonville, NY 12748. Email reddogsorganization@gmail.com for more information, including forms and pricing.

In exciting news for artists, the Delaware Valley Arts Nest invites you to submit your work for its upcoming exhibition, titled “Metamorphosis.” Showcase your artistic interpretation of transformation and change in captivating 2D pieces. The deadline is Monday, February 19. 

Submit up to six pieces along with a digital image and artist statement to JodiSibilia+Curator@gmail.com.

Include your name, contact information, title, medium, dimensions and sale price for each artwork.
