Hope you all had a great Father’s Day.

The anticipation of summer vacation is real in this house. One child is done and another has one more week. So exciting!

Mark your calendars that for the Sullivan West Elementary School on June 22 and 23, dismissal will be at 11:45 a.m.—buses will be loaded at 11:30 a.m. and will pull out at 11:45 a.m. Plan accordingly.

There are many activities that are happening in and about our community in the upcoming weeks. Have a look at a few below.

Don’t forget “Catskills Hidden Jewel Lake Huntington, NY,” a show that features the photography of Lindita Lushaj.

You’ll find the Delaware Valley Opera, photography and a music performance; the Lake Huntington Fire Company; and the Cochecton Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

This show is a heartfelt tribute to the captivating natural beauty of Lake Huntington, NY throughout the year. It’s about sharing and appreciating the beauty of this place that we call home.

The show runs through Sunday, July 2.

It’s on display in the Union Digital Gallery, 7 Erie Ave., Narrowsburg NY.

The Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church is having a chicken BBQ—takeout only. The chicken is made by Famous Brooks BBQ on Saturday, July 8. Pick up the chicken dinners at the church hall from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The price of the dinners is $14 and the meals are available by pre-sold tickets only. Call Vicky Krauss at 845/932-8923 for tickets.

The Hector’s Inn ninth annual car show will be held on Saturday, July 29 at 12 noon. All vehicles are welcome. If it has wheels, bring it on in. There’s no judging of cars and no entry fee. Just people with the same interests as you, here to share their cars and stories.

No car? No worries. Stop by to check out the vehicles and vendors, and listen to the music. Food will be available. There’s no charge for admission.

The 2023 Bowhunter Youth Camp will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 8 and 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Youth Bowhunter Camp is open to all youth aged 11 to 16 in DEC Region 3, which includes Sullivan County. Space is limited and the deadline for applications is Friday, June 30. For more information, call 845/794-6752 or email bowbender@hvc.rr.com.

The 25th annual Delaware Youth Center 5K/10K River Run & Walk is scheduled for Sunday, July 16. Not only does the race lead you along the gorgeous Delaware River that lends the youth center its name, but it is also our center's biggest fundraiser. By signing up, you're literally running to help us! Get your race packet and register in person on Saturday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, July 16 from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
