Teague Trail Trot and more in Forest City

FOREST CITY, PA — It’s a small town, but the upcoming weekend will keep visitors busy on Sunday, May 21.

The second annual Teague Trail Trot 5K and Community Walk kicks off at 10 a.m. at the D&H Trail Head; the community walk follows afterward.

Online registration remains open until 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 20. The cost is $35 for runners and $20 for community walkers. Commemorative race T-shirts are included in the race registration.

The Greater Forest City Business Alliance (GFCBA) dedicates the funds from this race toward community projects that connect Forest City’s outdoor experience to its downtown.

After the race, the Browndale Fire Company’s spring barbecue takes place. If you haven’t ordered your meal, you can still donate to the 110-year-old fire department and help it buy equipment, pay for utilities and fuel, and fund operating expenses. Watch for its upcoming fund drive.

Finally, it’s time for the vendor fairs at Kennedy Park this summer. Forest City Parks and Recreation has scheduled three events on Sunday, May 21, Sunday, July 16 and Sunday, September 17. The park will be open and vendors ready for the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“It’s a fabulous way to spend your Sunday, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the park and browsing the vast array of local businesses and services,” wrote a spokesperson for the GFCBA.
