MILFORD, PA ― The winning poster in the Safe Steps children’s art contest has been announced. It was a joint effort from the students in Miss Cameron’s resource room at Shohola Elementary School.
Jeremy Holohan, Grace Colville, Keegen Vandermark, Liam Pozo, Peyton Fisher, Jackson Davis, Jeffrey Berger, Victoria Benyovszki, Alianna Byrnes, Christopher Rojas and Joey Sala all collaborated to create the winning poster.
The contest was run by the Pike County Tick Borne Diseases Task Force and was sponsored by Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The contest winners attended the May 3 commissioners meeting to accept their award. Each winner received a participation certificate and a T-shirt featuring their winning design.
Children in grades K-6 were asked to illustrate where ticks live, or how to protect themselves from tick bites.
The poster will be used in the task force’s educational materials, and will be displayed in the Pike County commissioners office, which is located at 506 Broad St.
