WAYNE COUNTY, PA — By proclamation of county commissioners, the 24-hour period between Thursday, June 1 and Friday, June 2, from 7 p.m. to 7 p.m. is officially NEPA Gives Day.
The Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF) made the announcement and is participating in the event.
NEPA Gives, a one-day online giving event, is the largest single day of philanthropy in our region, a WCCF spokesman said. Secure donations can be made to participating local nonprofits at www.nepagives.org/.
All donations made through this platform during NEPA Gives can activate sponsored prizes.
Going into its fourth year, NEPA Gives hopes to raise $1.5 million for its participating nonprofits.
In addition to online giving, an in-person event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on June 1 at Grants Woods, 4 Main Ave. in Hawley. It will feature nonprofit displays, live music and refreshments. The event is child-friendly, free and open to the public.
For any questions or additional information, call the Wayne County Community Foundation at 570/251-9993.
