Caller targeting diabetic patients of Wayne Community Health Centers

Posted

HONESDALE, PA — Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) officials are warning patients of a telephone scam involving calls that appear to be generated from its Pinnacle Family Health Center in Tafton. The callers are reaching out to diabetic patients specifically indicating the individual is eligible to receive an updated glucometer. The caller then requests the patient give their Medicare information and credit card number to complete the transaction.

“Our offices do not contact patients asking for personal information such as insurance or payment information via the phone,” stated Frederick Jackson, WMCHC executive director.

If you receive a call that you suspect is not genuine, please call your WMCHC provider’s office to confirm.
