NAZARETH, PA — Regular monitoring of a horse’s vital signs and body weight can prevent health problems from turning into emergencies. The Penn State Extension equine team will host a workshop designed for horse owners and horse caretakers to practice these skills.
In eastern Pennsylvania, a workshop will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at Equi-librium Inc., 524 Fehr Rd.
In addition to hands-on practice with real horses, the workshop will cover leg wrapping, using model demonstration horse legs. The workshop costs $25 per person and includes a first-aid kit. Participants must be 18 or older. Registration closes one week before each workshop. To register, visit extension.psu.edu or call 877/345-0691
