Lots to do in October

Posted

Hello October! Bring on all the Halloween and fall festivities! We are looking forward to participating in all the local community events and can’t wait to see all the costumes. There really is nothing better than fall in the Sullivan Catskills.

It is with deep sympathy to the family of Ruth Daly of Cochecton to announce the passing of her daughter-in-law Beverly Daily (Myrtle Beach, SC). She was the wife of Robert Daily.

There will be a penny social at the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 21. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and calling starts at 12:30 p.m. Hot dogs, sauerkraut, beverages and potato chips will be available for purchase. Cake and coffee will be served after the calling. It’s sponsored by the Lake Huntington Ladies Aid Society.

The Cochecton Youth Group is looking for volunteers in our community who would like to decorate a trunk and hand out treats during our fall event on October 28 at 10 a.m.

This event is open to children who live in the Town of Cochecton and who have pre-registered only; however, you do not need to have children participating to hand out goodies!

If you are interested in helping to make our event successful and would love to see our youth dressed up in their Halloween costumes, call Heather Neidert at 845/796-6976.
