Learn traditional Japanese tie-dyeing at Sullivan Public

ELDRED, NY — Katalina Iturralde will teach a workshop on itajime and shibori indigo dyeing at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 at Sullivan Public.
Iturralde will teach several different resist approaches as well as the history and methods of traditional dyeing. Utilizing folding techniques, wooden block resists and stitchings, participants will carefully create beautiful patterns and each make a 43” x 90” organic cotton shawl and tea towel in a custom indigo vat to take home.
Additional pieces will be available to purchase and dye.
The cost is $95 plus a $25 material fee.
