Laurel Hill Cemetery

MILFORD, PA — On Saturday, October 19, the Grey Towers National Historic Site is hosting a cemetery theatre program that will “bring inhabitants to life.”

The Laurel Hill Cemetery, located on Old Owego Turnpike at Grey Towers, holds the history of some of Milford’s earliest inhabitants. As one of the town’s first graveyards, Laurel Hill is the final resting place for nearly 200 residents who helped shape the community in the early 1800s.

Registration and payment is now open for the 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. programs. Call the Grey Towers Heritage Association at 570/296-9625 or register online at www.greytowers.org. The fee is $10 per person. Participants should meet in the visitor pavilion of the Grey Towers visitor parking lot.

Western Sullivan Public Library

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — All adults are invited to celebrate Halloween, get a tarot reading and create Halloween treats with local author and “Tarot Diva” Sasha Graham in her “Enchanted Kitchen.” Sasha will be stirring it up Tuesday, October 22 at 4:30 p.m. at the Jeffersonville Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library.

Belle Reve Senior Living

MILFORD, PA — On Saturday, October 26 from 12 noon to 4 p.m., a fall festival to benefit County Ark Farm will take place at Belle Reve Senior Living.

Live music and trick-or-treating will take place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. There will be face painting from 1 to 2 p.m. and a costume contest from 2 to 2:30. The day closes with a magician performance from 2:30 to 3:30.

Admission is free but RSVPs are appreciated by calling 570/409-9191.

Purchase tickets to win some prize raffles, as well as refreshments. All proceeds and donations received benefit Country Ark Farm. To learn more about the non-profit organization, visit www.countryarkfarm.org.

Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library

MONTICELLO, NY — On Thursday, October 24 at 6 p.m., come to a “Gathering of Ghosts” at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library. Celebrate the spooky season with an otherworldly workshop, presented by Ron Cain, that explores different types of ghosts and haunting. Hear theories explaining ghostly phenomena and learn ghost-hunting techniques. At the conclusion, participants are encouraged to share their own ghost stories.
