HURLEYVILLE, NY — Guitarist Will Sellenraad will perform in concert, for free, at the Sullivan County Museum this Friday, June 21, at 4 p.m. as part of the opening of the new photography exhibition celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Belgian Antarctic Expedition, of which Sullivan County native Dr. Frederick Cook was a part.

Will is known for his brilliant improvisations and compelling compositions that combine elements of jazz, soul, rock and funk. As a New York City native and the son of prominent New York painters, Will was drawn to music at an early age.  He is a graduate of the New School University Jazz Program, and has been in constant demand in and around New York City, appearing at venues such as The 55 Bar, Smalls, Mezzrow, The Blue Note, and Birdland. You can hear his music at www.willsellenraad.com

The free concert is sponsored by the Frederick Cook Society and will be followed by a lecture, beginning at 6 p.m., on the history of Antarctic exploration. Dr. Oana Marcu and Dr. Sarah Pickman will discuss “Legacies of the Belgica: 125 Years of Polar Science and Exploration”.

To learn more, visit the Cook Society website at www.frederickcookpolar.org or call 845/434-8044. The Sullivan County Museum is located at 265 Main St.
