 The chill of fall is in the air and the community is filled with pumpkins and mums on the doorsteps. This is my favorite time of year, with cozy sweaters, football games and all things pumpkin spice!

Here are some events happening soon in our community and in surrounding areas.

There will be an Autumn Equinox Sacred Cacao Ceremony on Sunday, September 22 at Jurni Quantum Healing Center in Cochecton, NY, taking place from 12 noon to 3 p.m. The cost is $45 and pre-registration is required. Call 845/932-5113 or email jurni.healing@gmail.com

Looking to add some calm and rejuvenation to your week? Join the welcoming yoga community for gentle yoga sessions that will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. The practice focuses on movements that feel good in the body, emphasizing rest and rejuvenation. 

The class schedule is as follows: 

Fridays at 6:30 p.m.: Start your weekend with an energized yet gentle practice by the lake or in the loft.

Saturdays at 9:30 a.m.: Ease into your weekend with a slower, restorative practice to rejuvenate your mind and body. Whether you're new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, our classes are perfect for all levels.

The 18th annual Cochecton Preservation Society Coffee, Tea and History event presents Sir William Johnson on Sunday, September 22 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cochecton Train Station, 8537 State Rte. 97. This is a rain-or-shine event with free admission, door prizes and refreshments available. The most powerful and romantic figure in early American history, presented by Frank Salvati. The Sullivan County Long Beards-NWTF will hold the annual Jakes Event on Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Roscoe Rockland’s Fireman’s Field in Roscoe, NY. This event is for ages 17 and under. Some of the tentative programs and demonstrations are modified 3D archery, duck retrieval, Buck Brook Alpacas, birdhouse building, birds of prey, fishing and cider making. Farm Fest will be held on Saturday, September 28 at Hilly Acres farm in Jeffersonville, NY from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. located at 32 Wahl Rd. There will be farm-fresh food, pumpkins, antique tractors, hayrides, pumpkin decorating and more. There will be exhibitions from 4-H and Future Farmers of America, chances to meet the animals and local craft vendors. For more information, call 845/482-4296.
