MILFORD, PA — From the complex to the sublime, the work of award-winning artist Chris Hobbs will be featured throughout May at the ARTery Gallery. A reception will be held at the gallery on Saturday, May 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hobbs started out making paper mazes in the 1990s, back when the ARTery was first formed. Over the past 30 years, the range of his work has expanded to jewelry and three-dimensional graphic replicas of boardwalks, motorcycles, exotic fish, abstract op-art designs and more.
Each paper construction begins with a hand-drawn design before being outlined and defined with pen and ink, then cut into small individual units. By stacking multiple layers of these designs, he is able to achieve depth and dimension.
The exhibit runs through Monday, June 3. Gallery hours are Thursday to Monday from 10 am to 6 pm.
The gallery is located at 210 Broad St. in the Forest Hall building.
