Cochecton youth can trick-or-treat, eat Medieval and more

It’s hard to believe we are ending the month of September already. We’re looking forward to the annual Ride 2 Survive Dinner Dance this weekend at the Villa Roma.

The board members always do a fantastic job, and this annual event raises funds to assist with transportation expenses, while people deal with a cancer diagnosis.

The Cochecton Youth Group is looking for volunteers in our community who would like to decorate a trunk and hand out treats during their fall event on Saturday, October 28 at 10 a.m.

This event is open to children who live in the Town of Cochecton and only those who have preregistered—however, you do not need to have children participating to hand out goodies.

If you are interested in helping to make the event successful and would love to see Cochecton youth dressed up in their Halloween costumes, call Heather Neidert at 845/796-6976.

Fall event for Cochecton youth

Join the Cochecton Youth Group at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 28 for a fun day of trick or treating and other activities. This event is for Cochecton youth only and all Cochecton youth must be signed up in advance to participate.

Sign-ups will be held on Tuesday, October 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the lower level of the town hall. If you cannot make sign-ups, call Michelle at 570/419-8801 by 7 p.m. on Monday, October 2. The program is funded by the County of Sullivan and the New York State Office and Family Services through the Sullivan County Youth Bureau.

Trip to Medieval times

Here ye, hear ye, the Cochecton Youth Group will travel to the Castle of Lyndhurst on Saturday, November 4 at 2 p.m. Those who go will enjoy a four-course meal for royalty, including roasted chicken, garlic bread and sweet buttered corn. Vegetarian options are available upon request.

While the group dines, all will be entertained by knights, squires, horses and falcons.

The castle is located at 149 Polito Ave., Lyndhurst NJ.

The cost for parents/guardians is $56.13. This includes tax and tip. Please bring exact cash only to sign-ups.

Sign-ups for this event will be on Tuesday, October 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the lower level of the Cochecton Town Hall. If you cannot make sign-ups, call April at 845/701-2530 by 7 p.m. on October 2. Sign-ups will close at 7 p.m. on October 3. The event is funded by the County of Sullivan and the New York State Office and Family Services through the Sullivan County Youth Bureau.

For questions, call April with any questions at 845/701-2530.

Join the Girl Scouts today and lead in a better tomorrow. The group will be meeting on Thursdays at the Town of Cochecton Town Hall, in the lower level. The time is to be determined. Email Maryann O. at bmyluv813@hotmail.com for more information.
