This spring certainly has been all over the place weather-wise, from rain and snow to gusting winds and beautiful sunny days. We can’t wait for the steady sunny days to get out and walk, garden and do the spring clean-up!

Be advised the New York State Burn Ban is in effect through May 14.

Spring break for the Sullivan West Central School District will run from Friday, March 29 through Sunday, April 7, with students returning to school on Monday, April 8.

Have a look at a few events and activities in our community and in the region: 

The Cochecton Men’s Club will host the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30 at the Cochecton Men’s Club Sports Complex, starting at 1 p.m. You’ll find free hot dogs and treats. They hope to see you all there.

There will be a penny social at the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church, on County Road 116 in Lake Huntington, NY, on Saturday, April 27. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and calling begins at 12:30 p.m. There are hot dogs and soda for sale. They’ll have many great prices and raffles—it’s fun for all. 

The captivating Metamorphosis exhibit is on display at the Arts Nest through May 31. Prepare to be dazzled by the remarkable artworks that explore the theme of transformation in all its forms. From stunning visual displays to thought-provoking installations, this exhibit promises to inspire and captivate. Find the Arts Nest at 6692 State Rte. 52 in Lake Huntington. Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in this unique artistic journey.

Save the date for another exciting event—the Plein Air Lake Huntington event on Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Step into the picturesque outdoors and unleash your creativity amidst the beauty of nature.

The SUNY Sullivan Career Center will host a Career & Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 in the E Lobby on the SUNY Sullivan campus, 112 College Rd. in Loch Sheldrake, NY. The fair is open to students and the public, and organizers are inviting some of the largest local and regional employers to participate. Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring their resumes.
