A unique prom: Pop-Up Prom hosted by The Cooperage Project

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, April 13, The Cooperage Project (TCP) hosted its second Pop-Up Prom, a semi-formal dance for folks in our community with unique abilities. This year’s Pop-Up Prom was held at venue space 6th & River and provided 40 individuals and their caregivers an evening to remember—full of food, dancing, pampering, gifts and community.

While The Cooperage Project served as official host of this year’s Pop-Up Prom, it took a village of over 50 businesses and organizations from every corner of our community to create this festive event. Partnering with local businesses, honored guests were provided opportunities for discounted tuxedos, semi-formal dresses, professional hair styling and makeup.

At the event, the honored guests were offered a custom handmade corsage or boutonniere, a crown or tiara, a walk down the red carpet, a special gift bag complete with their prom photo, and other goodies.

TCP Pop-Up Clubbers from the Wayne Highlands School District helped set up for the prom, according to an Instagram post.

The Cooperage Project would like to sincerely thank and acknowledge all of the collaborators and over 30 volunteers for their financial support, in-kind services, and their invaluable time. Additionally, we’d like to thank each and every guest and caregiver who attended this year’s Pop-Up Prom.
