March brings many birthdays to our home, so it is always a busy month!

The start of a new athletic season in school sports is also upon us. Be sure to visit the Sullivan West sports schedules online, and check out a game or two this spring season.

There will be a penny social on Saturday, April 15 at the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church on County Route 116. The doors open at 11:30 a.m. and calling starts at 12:30 p.m. The cost is a donation of $1. Hope to see you there. If you have questions, call Vicki at 845/932-8923 or Grace at 570/729-8247.

Due to St. Patrick's Day being on a Friday and that it is Lent, Lakeview Pizza & Bar in Lake Huntington, NY will host its corned beef and cabbage dinner on Saturday, March 18. Serving will start at 4:30 p.m. and end when they run out. Eat in/Take out available. For more info or reservations, call 845/932-8131. Come out, enjoy, and show your true Irish pride.

Join the Western Sullivan Public Library’s Tween Night—it’s a home spa lab event.  Join them in this fun hands-on program that's designed to make you glow! Attendees will put together all-natural recipes for you to take home and try. Because DIY is totally empowering, not to mention fun! This program is for tweens and teens ages 11-17. For more information, visit wsplonline.libcal.com/event/10287848.

Are you dreaming of planting a garden this year but don’t know where to start? Did you have a garden last year, but want to get an early start on creating a plan this year? Then this family garden class is for you.

The Western Sullivan Public Library is holding classes on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the Delaware Free branch on March 22, and at the Jeffersonville branch on March 29.

Join the class for an interactive planning session. During the session, they’ll talk about design aesthetics, look at the planting schedule, and take time to decide what they want to plant this year and just where it should go.

Beginners and more-experienced junior gardeners are welcome. This class works as a stand-alone for children ages eight and up, as well as for children interested in joining the garden club. Parents are welcome to attend the class and create their own garden plan. Learn more at wsplonline.libcal.com/event/10287839.
