STROUDSBURG, PA — The Sherman Theater and the African American Network of the Poconos invite the community to the 22nd annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival on Saturday, June 15, from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The festival will take place in Courthouse Square, and promises a day of live music, food, vendors, educational activities and networking opportunities.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. This festival is a celebration of culture, history and the ongoing journey towards equality and justice.

This event is designed for the entire community.

The Sherman Theater is Monroe County’s only nationally ranked, nonprofit theater and performing arts center. Located in downtown Stroudsburg, the Sherman Theater has proudly served the Pocono region for 90 years. The Theater and Performing Arts Center is committed to strengthening the community by producing culturally diverse, nationally known professional acts and festivals at the theater and at satellite locations throughout Monroe County for people of all ages. It provides an opportunity for local artists to perform, and creates economic development in the region.
