HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) Gallery will host “Zones,” an installation by Samuelle Green, which will be on view from Friday, September 6 through Sunday, October 13. An artist’s reception will be held on September 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Green’s artwork has been shown across the U.S. as well as in China, Italy, Estonia and France. The artist, a Honesdale native, uses painting, drawing, sculpture and installation to highlight the forms and details present in nature that humanity often overlooks and underappreciates.
Her installation, “The Paper Caves,” was on display on Honesdale’s Main Street a few years ago.
For the WCAA exhibition, Green uses identifiable objects and a vibrant color palette. The show, titled “Zones,” emphasizes the concept of borders, boundaries, barriers and zones, and “whether they are enforced for safety and protection or because of the fear of exploring the unknown,” the WCAA said.
Green studied at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and Parsons School of Design in New York. She has been published in many journals and her work has been seen on HBO and AMC+.
The exhibition is made possible by the support of the Turano Insurance Agency.
The WCAA gallery is located at 959 Main St. and is open from Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
