SCRANTON, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Office of Environmental Justice announced the dates of a series of public comment meetings allowing Pennsylvanians to share feedback on DEP’s Interim Final Environmental Justice Policy. The goal of these meetings is to engage Pennsylvanians in shaping environmental justice policy for communities across the commonwealth, according to a news release.

The public comment period extends through Sunday, October 29.

DEP has organized seven in-person public comment meetings and two statewide virtual public comment meetings across Pennsylvania to ensure broad participation and help DEP foster environmental justice in Pennsylvania. The meetings provide a platform for the public to raise thoughts, concerns and suggestions regarding the policy.

An in-person meeting will be held in Scranton on Monday, October 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the University of Scranton Loyola Science Center, 100 Linden St., Room 133. Virtual meetings will be held on Wednesday, October 11 and 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visit http://www.dep.pa.gov/EJPolicyRevision for registration details and more information.
