JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — For this year’s season, the Weekend of Chamber Music (WCM) explores the topic of “Become Music.”
The performances and rehearsals start on Thursday, July 18 with “MusicTalks: Become Breath” at 7:30 p.m. at Lulu’s Social Club.
The enchanted flute of guest artist Carol Wincenc is at the center of this program of short, intimate works arising from the earth. The performance features the music of Bach, Debussy, Waggoner and more.
2024 brings a summer of reckoning with, indulging in and celebrating our planet, its beauty and fragility, and our fraught relationship to it, per a news release from the WCM.
The summer’s lineup of concerts features works by John Luther Adams, as well as music of Carter, Debussy, Faure, Mozart, Schumann and more.
As always, pre-concert talks, open workshops and discussions with the guest composer will be offered.
Lulu’s Social Club is located at the Jeff Bake Shop, 4906 Main St.
The cost is $20.
