At its May 6 meeting, the school board honored Schkolenko for her outstanding dedication to the Unified Sports Teams. Unified brings special education and regular education students together for athletics to empower them and the wider community.
Schkolenko has been coaching the team since the program began in Wallenpaupack six years ago. The intermediate and the middle schools offer Unified track and field and Unified bocce ball.
