UPPER DELAWARE VALLEY — The Upper Delaware Council (UDC) is looking for volunteers, Litter Leaders, and sponsors for the fourth annual Upper Delaware Litter Sweep, to take place on April 20-28.
Land-based clean-ups will be organized in every Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River corridor community that is willing to participate. The UDC will designate Litter Leaders in 15 townships in New York and Pennsylvania to set the dates and locations for their clean-ups, helping to round up volunteers in conjunction with the UDC’s outreach, and overseeing safety standards with provided instructions.
Any interested individuals, groups, or businesses may contact Stephanie Driscoll at 845-252-3022 or stephanie@upperdelawarecouncil.org with name, email, and phone number, and where they would like to clean up. The event is wholly funded by donations from partners, businesses, and those who love the river corridor. The UDC handles ordering the t-shirts for volunteer team building, permitting, insurance coverage, grant applications, connecting volunteers, purchase and distribution of equipment and supplies, maintaining a clean-up schedule, and promotion before, during, and after the event.
Contributors of $50 and above will be acknowledged in publicity. Donations may be made on the UDC website: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/upperdelawarecouncil. Checks can be mailed to: Upper Delaware Council, P.O. Box 192, Narrowsburg, NY 12764; or drop off monetary donations at the 211 Bridge Street office (indicate that the donation is for the 2024 Litter Sweep).
