HONESDALE, PA — Harold Fana Mena and Eimy Martinez Beltre, of Bronx, NY, and the Dominican Republic were charged with Identity Theft, Forgery, and Possession of Instruments of Crime on June 5, 2023. Bail was set at $125,000 for each Defendant. On June 21, 2023, Mr. Fana Mena waived his preliminary while Ms. Martinez Beltre requested a one (1) week continuance of her central court date.
On May 31, 2023, the victim contacted the State Police that his personal information had been stolen and used to purchase Ipads. Mr. Fana Mena tried to pick up the item using a fake identification with the victim’s information.
On June 2, 2023, the victim again received a notification that his personal information had been used to purchase Ipads. Mr. Fana Mena again attempted to pick up the items.
On June 5, 2023, Fana Mena and Martinez Beltre were stopped while traveling on Route 84 in a van with Florida registration. During the stop, State Police found Mr. Fana Mena with 11 fake Pennsylvania IDs, including the victim in this matter. Martinez Beltre possessed 2 fake Pennsylvania IDs. Attached are the criminal complaints with further information. Also located were 8 Fed EX packages containing Ipads purchased using other persons’ personal information.
