MONTGOMERY, NY — Time and the Valleys Museum will hold a tour of Pergamena Parchments and Leathers Tannery on Saturday, July 29 at 2 p.m.
Registration ends on Friday July 28.
Participants can explore the old-time process of tanning animal hides. Jesse Meyer, owner of Pergamena Parchments and Leathers—who comes from a family that has been tanning leather since 1550—will guide the group through his tannery. It produces vegetable-tanned leather and is one of a small number of producers of animal skin parchment around the world.
The program is free for museum members and costs $5 for non-members.
The group will meet at the location. The tour is limited to 20 people and you must register to be included.
Email info@timeandthevalleysmuseum.org or call 845/985-7700 to register.
