The evening will begin with African/American Composers, Then and Now, a lecture and performance presented by Thurman Barker, musician and professor at Bard College; the event is followed by a screening of DJ Spooky’s multimedia film remix, titled “Rebirth of a Nation,” beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Both events take place in CAS’s second-floor River Gallery. Barker and Paul D. Miller aka DJ Spooky will be in attendance for audience questions and talk-back.
