LIBERTY, NY — Liberty Performing Arts will present “The Wizard of Oz” at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 3; and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 4 in the David E. Panebaker Auditorium in the high school.
The cast includes high school and elementary school students.
After being swept by a tornado from Kansas to a new land, Dorothy (Jayla Edwards) meets new friends Scarecrow (Jacob Kelly), Tin Man (Nathan Desrochers) and Lion (Rayanna Cottman). Dorothy is guided by Glinda the Good Witch (Julia Juron) as she fights the Wicked Witch of the West (Yamilot Lopez Cortez), and searches for the all-powerful and mysterious Wizard of Oz (Joshua Kratz) to help her get home.
Waiting for Dorothy at home are Hunk (Jacob Kelly), Hickory (Nathan Desrochers) and Zeke (Rayanna Cottman); Aunt Em (Jordan Hewlett) and Aunt Henny (Sophia Ferguson); and Miss Gulch (Lianna Gissentaner), from whom Dorothy was escaping when she was caught up in the tornado.
Tickets, which cost $10 plus a $1 fee, are now on sale at www.ticketsource.us/liberty-performing-arts. If seats are available, tickets will be sold at the door for $10. Children aged two and younger will be admitted free.
