Hello August! Wowza, it sure has been so hot and humid this summer, and these afternoon thunderstorms have not cooled down the temperatures very much.

We are gearing up for the 143rd Grahamsville Little World’s Fair on August 18-20.

Don’t forget there is a 4-H Youth Agriculture Product and Livestock Auction at the Grahamsville Little World’s Fair on Sunday, August 20. Viewing starts at 12 noon and auction bidding begins at 1 p.m. Support our local 4-H youth (my daughter included!) as they auction off the hard work they have been doing all season. You’ll find sweet corn, raw honey, herbs, pies, eggs, canned goods, flowers, livestock and so much more.

Come join us and bid on the items the Sullivan County 4-H youth have to offer. All proceeds raised are split between the youth and the 4-H auction scholarship fund. Call 845/292-61800 ext. 109 for more information.

The Fall Sports FAMILYID is open for all students wishing to play a fall sport in middle school/high school this year. Fall sports practice begins for JV/varsity football on August 19. All other JV/varsity sports begin on August 21 and modified sports begin on September 7. Find the school website under the Athletics tab for more information. www.swcsd.org

The annual Bagel Festival takes place on Sunday, August 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Broadway in Monticello, offering food, fun, music, shopping, a car show, and Catskills ReVibe—live mural paintings by Lowkey Creative. For more information, visit thebagelfestival.org/.

Check out the Narrowsburg Farmers Market every Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine. Discover a diverse selection of local farmers, food producers and artisans that will surely delight your tastebuds. It’s open through October 28; don't miss out on the chance to support local businesses and enjoy fresh produce, delicious food and community

If you have a local business that you would like to have spotlighted in an upcoming column, get in touch. Email jenn@jennpowelldesigns.com with any news, events and happenings.
