HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) and curators Marguerite (Maggie) Fuller, Phyllis Chekenian and Dave Janiec are seeking submissions on the theme “Journey” for the 2024 Great Wall of Honesdale (GWH).
All entrants pay a $30 entry fee and can submit up to three images of artwork through call-for-entries site CaFÉ.
What is “Journey”?
It’s a noun: “an act or instance of traveling from one place to another.”
It’s a verb: “to go on a journey; to travel over or through” space or time.
Creative interpretation of the theme is encouraged.
The deadline for submission is Sunday, March 24, and entrants will be notified on April 22.
The Great Wall of Honesdale is a well-known landmark in Wayne County. Over five million cars drive past the Great Wall of Honesdale each year, and can see the large-scale 11-foot-by-17-foot art panels.
In June 2024, 12 panels with newly selected artwork will be unveiled. The panels will remain on display for an entire year. Chosen artwork is also displayed online as a permanent feature on the Great Wall of Honesdale’s website, which includes links to artist websites and/or social media accounts.
