LIBERTY, NY — A workplace wellness event for service providers at agencies and nonprofits will be held on Friday, July 21 at 11:30 a.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County.
It has been developed by Sullivan County’s Public Health Essentials Team, which includes people from Action Toward Independence, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County and Sullivan 180.
Under the guidance of facilitator Cheyanna Frost, the program manager for public workforce development at Cornell University, the team has previously organized an MLK Day of Service event. Now the team has “decided to provide tools and information that can help change dynamics in the workplace for positive outcomes,” a spokesperson said.
The Leadership Empowerment Workshop will focus on workplace wellness and how to create a healthier work environment. The day includes modules on worksite culture, worksite wellness and more. The program will also feature a special guest presenter, author Shar McBee, who will discuss her book “To Lead is to Empower.”
“Our leaders have struggled with staffing issues, fatigue, and increased workload,” said Deborah Worden, executive director of Action Toward Independence. “The goal is building resiliency in our local leadership and showing the power they possess to make positive changes.
The cooperative extension is located at 64 Ferndale Loomis Rd.
Registration is required at www.bit.ly/3JPGPpA.
