SCDW raffle for theatre repairs, scholarships

SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY — It’s that time of year again: temperatures are dropping; the air smells of snow—and the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop (SCDW) holds its annual New York State raffle—but tickets must be purchased by Sunday, December 31.

It’s a chance to support SCDW’s ongoing repairs to the historic Rivoli Theatre and have 31 chances to win money.

The purchase of a $10 raffle ticket comes with a three-digit number between 000 and 999. If that number comes up as the evening drawing during the month of January in 2024, you win the money for that day—between $25 and $100.

Purchase of a raffle ticket also nets the purchaser a free ticket to any SCDW show in 2024 (or $10 off the 2024 musical, “The Wizard of Oz.”

All proceeds go toward needed repairs for the theatre and to support the SCDW Theatre Scholarship program. The program helps young actors as they go to college.

Tickets can be purchased on scdw.net (click on the Tickets button at the top of the page); email scdwtreasurer@gmail.com and request tickets; or contact any SCDW member and buy your ticket from them.

Be sure to include your name, email address, phone number (so we can call you when you win) and your favorite number if you have one.

If you don’t have a favorite number, the SCDW will send a random number.

At $10 each, these make great stocking stuffers and secret Santa presents, the SCDW said.
