NEW YORK CITY, NY — Narrowsburg’s Ruffed Grouse Gallery will be exhibiting at the Outsider Art Fair from Thursday, February 29 to Sunday, March 3 at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
The Outsider Art Fair is the only fair devoted to self-taught art, art brut and outsider art. This year, it will feature 63 exhibitors—including nine who are showing for the first time.
Outsider art, according to the Tate Gallery, is created by people without formal art training and who often work outside the structures of traditional art.
The Ruffed Grouse Gallery’s exhibit will feature works by Outsider artists such as Mose Tolliver, James Castle, William Hawkins, Pearl Blauvelt, John Henry Toney and more. Works will also be presented by recently recognized artists Amanda Miehle, Jonathan Lerman, David Olson and The Attic Carver. Some of these works are on view for the first time.
The pavilion is located at 125 W. 18th St., and the exhibit is in Booth D15.
The art fair is open to the public on Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2, from 11a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, March 3 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
