Resignations from the Sullivan County Government

Posted

MONTICELLO, NY — Three high ranking members of the Sullivan County government have resigned in quick succession.

Adrienne Jensen, executive director of the Human Rights Commission, announced her resignation at a Thursday, March 9 meeting of the Sullivan County Legislature's Human Resources Committee. Jensen felt the need for the position surpassed its support, she said. "There is far more education work that needs to occur regarding human rights in this county. Both literally and figuratively, the office size and support does not meet the immense need for the position in this county."

Freda Eisenberg, commissioner of the Sullivan County Division of Planning, Community Development and Real Property has tendered her resignation effective April 11, confirmed by Sullivan County Director of Communications Dan Hust. Eisenberg became planning commissioner in 2014, following a career in local government and as a private sector consultant. Heather Brown has been serving as the deputy planning commissioner, and is expected to be named interim planning commissioner.

Nancy McGraw, former Director of Public Health for Sullivan County, resigned effective March 3, confirmed Hust. McGraw was placed on administrative leave in December, pending an administrative hearing. Karen Holden has been serving as acting Director of Public Health, and the legislature intends to appoint her permanently, subject to Department of Health approval.
