MINEOLA, NY — First, we have pastrami on rye; now we have the “7 on 70” Jewish Birthday Tour!
Rabbi Anchelle Perl will be traveling to seven locations across Long Island & Florida in celebration of his 70th birthday.
Rabbi Anchelle and Bluma Perl are on a week-long “Jewish Birthday Tour” for informal farbrengen gatherings with family and friends, to share in the deeper meanings of celebrating one’s Jewish birthday.
What is a Jewish birthday? Explains Rabbi Perl: it is when the Creator said, “Here, I am giving you a body, a soul and a divine mission. I have absolute trust in your ability to pull through for Me.”
Your birthday matters: to be grateful for the gift of life, and to tap into the awesome energy that is present on the day you were born.
Rabbi Perl further notes that a Jewish birthday is not so much a time to get gifts, but more to give gifts, to give blessings to family and friends, sit down to an informal farbrengen, share words of inspiration, and remind oneself that what matters isn’t what the world has given us, but rather what we give back to the world.
Man was created to make life on earth purer, brighter and holier than it was before he came on the scene.
Noted businessman Gary Nudelman, distinguished member of Chabad of Mineola, who shares the same Jewish birthdate as the rabbi, is hosting the central Florida celebration that will take place on Thursday, February 15 in Fort Lauderdale.
Earlier gatherings are taking place from Boca Raton to Bal Harbor. The concluding event is in Mineola, Long Island, on Monday, February 19 at 6:15 p.m.
If you are in Florida and wish to join Rabbi Perl on this special celebration for Jewish birthdays, respond by email to rabbiperl@chabadmineola.com. No gifts, no costs. Just the passion to live life with gratitude and appreciation.
