NARROWSBURG, NY — A workshop on pollinators and art will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 27 at the Tusten Heritage Community Garden (THCG), on De Mauro Lane near the Tusten-Cochecton branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library.
The local pollinator blooms at THCG will be the subjects for Pollinator Portraits—both because of their beauty and in appreciation pf the life-sustaining role they play in the ecosystem here in the Upper Delaware River.
Attendees will look at work by artist Piet Mondrian, who painted over 100 portraits of individual blooms, combining his formal artistic training and powers of observation with his spiritual and romantic nature. There will be demos and a guided sketch with dry media. Materials provided.
The workshop is made possible with a grant from the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway. Visit #flywayonthebyway
