Gardening for nature’s intricate web

CALLICOON, NY — Join author Carolyn Summers as she talks about gardening and nature on Tuesday, July 30 at 5 p.m. at the Delaware Free Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library.
Summers, coauthor with Kate Brittenham of “Designing Gardens with Flora of the American East,” will discuss current research that reveals the many ways in which native plants form the basis of the food web that supports a healthy, pollinator-rich landscape.
Interactions between insects and the plants they need will be highlighted during the slide presentation. Summers will provide suggestions for making gardens more useful and welcoming to insects and other wildlife, and there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
The library is located at 45 Lower Main St.
Register online or email wsplprograms@rcls.org with any questions.
