Plein Air in Narrowsburg

NARROWSBURG, NY — Narrowsburg welcomes plein air artists on Saturday, August 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It is hosted by the Barryville Area Arts Association.

Artists will be welcomed inside the walls of Fort Delaware to capture scenes of historical structures and reenactments of colonial American life.

At Fort Delaware, the daily life of the wilderness settler is explored through exhibits, crafts, and demonstrations.

A second Plein Air will also take place on Main Street, well-known for its river views and charming mix of historic buildings and contemporary establishments.

Participants can set up their easels on Main Street or find their own special places—or consult a map of “Seven Secret Scenic Spots,” provided to all artists at the registration table.

These events are open to artists and art lovers of all ages and skill levels. Art supplies will be on hand for beginners.

The finished art will be on exhibit at a free reception at the Tusten-Cochecton branch of the Western Sullivan Library on Saturday, September 2.

This is a free event, but pre-registration is required at barryvilleareaarts@gmail.com.
