FORESTBURGH, NY — A small plane crashed on State Route 42 on the town line between Thompson and Forestburgh on Friday, July 15. According to flight data from flightradar24.com, the aircraft was a Cessna T210F Turbo Centurion, a six-seat, single-engine propeller airplane.
The pilot avoided injury in the crash; no one else was on board. According to an eyewitness account from Siim Hanja, the pilot was bringing the plane to a prospective buyer and had insurance. Monticello Fire Department arrived first on the scene, and Forestburgh Fire Department arrived after they had gotten the blaze under control.
Preliminary incident data from the Federal Aviation Administration indicates that the aircraft was destroyed, and does not make a determination as to the circumstances behind the crash.
